I am an award winning South East Idaho Photographer specializing in Newborns, Children, Seniors and Family Photography. 

Over the years I have been honored and lucky enough to be featured in multiple magazines such as Lensational, Lemonade and Lenses, and Bump Baby and Beyond. I have also been featured on Senior Muse, Senior Guy Style, Inspired by Color, and Senior Year Magazine. I am a gold medal winner for an international cake smash competition. I have worked with companies such as Lacey and Lee Co, Backdrop Outlet, Love Crush Bowtique, Hello Miss Gorgeous, and Armoniia.  I have won numerous Grand Champion, Judges Choice, Reserve Grand Champion, 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place ribbons at the Idaho State Fair, Madison County Fair, Jefferson County Fair, and Fremont County Fair. 
 

I first got a passion for photography when my second child was turning 2 years old.  I was tired of not having good quality photos of my kids and so for Christmas I told my husband I wanted a camera.  I got one and immediately started practicing on my own little models.  After a short time some friends saw my work and wanted me to take pictures of their children.  From there my business took off and Heather Carey Photography was born. 

I have been doing photography for 7 years now.  I have a commercial store front studio where I do all of my cake smash and newborn sessions.  It is filled with all of the props, backdrops, tiebacks, and wraps needed for those sessions.  I wanted to create an experience for my clients that was different than other photographers so I have slowly stocked my studio over time so that my clients only have to worry about showing up.  I provide everything for my sessions and a high end experience you won't find elsewhere.  

My goal as a photographer is to deliver timeless, classic images that will look beautiful hanging on the walls in my clients homes for years to come.  I focus on delivering quality over quantity.  No one wants 50 or even 100 photos that are not worthy of being printed for your walls.  Instead I focus on making all the final images worthy of being printed.  Each image is a piece of artwork and I pay close attention to detail as I hand edit each image to perfection. 

I absolutely love being able to grow with my clients.  Some clients started at their engagement session and I have since photographed their wedding, first baby, cake smash session, yearly birthdays, and family photos.  I truly love watching families grow over time.  

My husband and I have been married for 11.5 years and we have 4 amazing children.  I am a lover of chocolate chip cookies, Dr. Pepper, pizza, Sunny weather, board games, cruises, beaches, Tillamook Cheese, bacon, basketball, pole vault, romantic movies, snowboarding, and Christmas.  I am basically obsessed with all things Christmas.  I also love to coach my kids sports teams and watch them learn and grow.  

I am a wife and mother first and foremost and only take limited sessions each month so make sure you book early as my schedule typically fills up a few months in advance.
